The Rings of Power

The American fantasy television series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and its appendices. The Second Age of Middle-earth is where the series, created by creators J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay for the streaming service Prime Video, is set, thousands of years before Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It is made in collaboration with HarperCollins, New Line Cinema, the Tolkien Estate, and the Tolkien Trust by Amazon Studios.

In November 2017, Amazon paid US$250 million for the television rights to The Lord of the Rings, committing to a five-season production that will cost at least US$1 billion.

Howard Shore composed the theme song. Filming for the first season took place in New Zealand, where the movies were made, from February 2020 to August 2021, with a sizable international cast being engaged. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a several-month production halt during that time. Amazon has shifted production for the upcoming seasons to the UK.

The Rings of Power looks really different from any other show. The costumes, settings, backgrounds, and accessories reach a degree of opulence that may only be rivaled by Marvel’s highest-budget productions, even surpassing the grimy, lived-in style of Peter Jackson’s first Lord of the Rings trilogy.

A Critics Review

Nearly 20 years have passed since the Lord of the Rings films introduced the public to a magical adventure. Since then, a lot has changed. Such movies may now be produced totally on a green screen, and experiencing a show in a theater no longer holds the same appeal. The Rings of Power, an Amazon online series based on the Lord of the Rings, is the ideal response in a time when everyone appears to be wondering if theaters will survive. For the purposes of this review, the first two episodes of the show were made available. Let’s just say that witnessing a big-screen extravaganza on your modest home screens does not let you down in the least.

Watch it on the largest screen you have instead of on your phone since it’s amazing to see the dwarves’ cave towns, “Khazad-dûm,” and the endless sensation of the Sundering Seas. This universe has been created with so much work (and money) that casual spectators would feel like they are losing out on a lot. It requires your complete focus, and anything less could leave you feeling lost. Reviewed by Indianexpress
